Getting Quiet

The frogs are in full effect and it’s amazing that they can be so synchronized that when one stops, they all get quiet together, and when one begins it’s in harmony with all the others, truly amazing. Today I had someone ask, since I tend to spend a good bit of time thinking on life how do I get quiet. This is a great question really!

The only time my mind is ‘quiet’ is when my body hurts. If, like today, there is a trigger with my neck, my brain becomes so dull and throbs with pain that it actually hurts to think. But everything is out of alignment and for me, this isn’t the idea. However, I can be in a place like meditation and everything resonates in such a way there is a harmonious wave of thoughts (or no thoughts) that flow freely. That is the continue to flow without me getting caught up in the details and they become so fluid that they make their own sound, hum, or on some level sound like the frogs out my window. The vibration of sound looses it’s distinct form of words and coherent thoughts, but reminds me of the life that still flows…that I continue to pulse with life. Some refer to it as resonating stillness, or that the dynamic nature of being comes into such alignment that it appears steady.

This is meditation of course. For me this dull feeling I have right now isn’t the idea, it’s just all my energy is going to restore the muscles that have been tweaked. I don’t want my mind to flatline, I hope the serenity comes from knowing the tune of consciousness that hums through me as me.

Doubt as a form of Grace

We tend to believe…that faith is unshakable. But the only way it can’t be rattled is when you’ve done the inquiry, yes, when you have doubted your own faith, your own beliefs. In saying that we still want to avoid any tests of a concept that involve harming yourself physically, mentally or emotionally as well as avoiding taking anyone else down along the journey.

But this is a wild idea, but when you doubt, not so much yourself, but question what is being presented, you avoid giving your power away for one, and two you don’t conform to any idea that doesn’t support optimal expression of your truest or best self. So even if you are off a little from everyone else, at least you are exploring. If you intentionally are aligned with everything in your external environment and what matters most deep in your heart – then – NICE!

The next time someone throws something your way (Especially if it is someone asking you to do as they say, but not as they do) let them know you need to know why.  If they only tell you it’s good for digestion, then keep asking questions. With questions you begin to integrate your belief and work on deepening your internal connection external self so that when you offer your explanation to another being ultimately allowing you to be anchored in a positive regard of yourself. Even when the potency of  grace is hard to face.

 

Just as you are

Because you are just right. There is always room to grow and we are always changing. Refining and evolving, never the same, yet we tend to hold a pattern. This pattern can go two ways, either in an expanding grove or a contractive unfolding. It sounds simple. We feel awe struck or we feel unfulfilled. We recognize the bigger picture we are a part of or we could feel alienated from everything. Unfortunately we even feel that we don’t deserve the good side of life. For example, there will be a flow to my week where I am overflowing with ideas and moments where the wellspring of my heart feels dry. When I am overflowing, I am excited and enthusiastic, witty and captivating – well, most of the time. When I am empty it’s rough and unfortunate. This is a pattern yoga, specifically Shaivism, that considers our truth to be conscious of bliss. Yes, our deepest truth is consciousness and bliss yet this bliss gets hidden. Before I go any further, bliss, our english translation of bliss is a little different than the sanskrit word ananda. Rather there is a form that gets cloaked in the crude, the junk, the uncomfortable and we forget that we are enough, that we are just right. We are giving an opportunity to rise up to the highest form of ourselves, but it ain’t easy, especially since we also have a built in capacity to know fear, isolation and disgust.

Don’t believe me?…watch your day. Are there moments where you feel great joy, love and peace, and do you allow yourself the moment that is just right. Can you breathe into the simplicity and abundance that flows through you once a day. Even when I am challenged and I begin to devalue my offering there is a rush of doubt. Doubt is important as it keeps you from drinking the kool-aid. But doubting that you are just enough can be healthy for only a moment to consider the big picture. A little inspiration from an open, expressive  attitude that fuels the desire to see more and experience more. Well, the pattern of moving from joy to anger takes work as does a willing heart. But if you see this pattern in yourself, then you can also see it in each other. Seeing yourself as being just right, may take an entire lifetime, but it creates a patterning in the body that strives for the good sweet nectar of the absolute heart.

This isn’t a common idea so consider me just beginning to unpack this contemplation. This is one of my favorite things to consider so since this posting process still has another 99 days before it…I’m going with the idea that I’ll probably share insights as they come and help guide physically, mentally and emotionally, but for now, this is just enough.
